SNEEKY FOX POP UP SHOP DIGBETH Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014

Co Founder of Sneaks&Peaks, John launched his new line of sneaky fox clothing last friday with with a pop up shop,

Heres a couple of words form John himself,

Friday saw the launch night of my sneeky fox PopUp shop on Digbeth High Street. The last year or so has been full on with sneaks&peaks taking the majority of my time so I’ve had no option than to keep sneeky fox on the back burner for a while. But this meant the pressure was off for a while and I could take my time to build a product that I felt was truly reflective of the brand. And I hope I’ve delivered. The Staple collection – 12 wardrobe essentials with minimal branding, high quality materials and clean lines.

And so I felt it was time to take it to the street. And in my mind there was no other option for me than to roll it out on Digbeth High Street, a stretch of road thats rich in independent shop history but currently lacking in people making the most of its good footfall and passing trade. You literally fall out the bullring and land here. A feeling in my bones and a gamble on a shop that looked worn down and tired on the outside revealed a hidden gem inside. And quite honestly gives me everything I’ve ever wanted out of a shop with its exposed brick work, contrasting material, and a vibe that i can only explain as outside, inside.

I finally felt I had enough variety of stock for a shop to stand alone. Somewhere were I could hang everything I’ve accomplished to date. My first collection, Home & Away, was a range designed and created not only for my love of sports apparel and its heritage but was a personal reminder for myself as to where it all began, together with the new Staple collection and a few limited edition tee designs. I also wanted both collections complimented by local artists whose work is in keeping with the direction of the brand.

The two artists I approached were G87 & Newso48. I’ve worked closely with both artists on previous projects like the renovation of Boxxed and obviously at sneaks&peaks and it felt only right to support these 2 artists in particular, their geometric mind bending work is deep on so many levels but at the same time clean and a perfect addition to the shop.

Zoot has also contributed to the clean lines and aesthetics of the shop highlighting his superb sign writing skills, that are second to none in Birmingham, even Midlands, on the frontage of the shop and on the custom made A board. Big love to all the fam for the help and support and every body i met on the preview night, some exciting link ups coming soon with the likes of Sweaty Eskimo, who’s customs kicks are that little bit special,

The shop runs Monday till saturday 5th July and is open every day from 10-7ish with live art, flash sales and giveaways throughout the week. Keep locked to sneeky fox’s social media for all news
